First Post

This is the first one folks. 


      Welcome to Why-Not-Blog. The title is a direct reference to an entertaining moment that occurred in the History 12 classroom I was volunteering with this fall. The unit was "The rise of Fascism" and the assignment was making a pro-Mussolini election campaign poster.

      Some kids were more artistic. Some actually had facts on their posters. But Will, Jordan, and Matty's group simply pasted a picture of Mussolini on their poster and wrote: "Mussolini: Why Not?" I found it to be very funny, and needless to say, it has stuck with me for a while.


      So here we are now. I'm flying by the seat of my pants, about to head to Australia, then Southeast Asia, and finally South Korea. If all goes to plan, I will be away for two solid years. There are a lot of special people in my life back here, and I truly want to keep in touch. However, this blog is just as much for myself, as it is for my friends and family. 


      I think it will give me some perspective. It will keep me in the loop. Oh the benefits! I will be consistent, observant, and creative. That much I can promise you.
